How much does it cost to become a member?
You bring RD$2,500 in total, but the only real cost is the RD$500 affiliation fee. The other RD$2,000 remains yours: RD$1,000 stays as minimum deposit in your savings account and RD$1,000 as your capital contribution.
Can I become a member as a foreigner?
Yes. You only need your passport — no Dominican residency required. We are the multicultural cooperative of the Caribbean, with members of more than 15 nationalities.
How long does the membership process take?
Between 20 and 30 minutes at any of our offices in Bayahibe, Dominicus or Bávaro. You can also start your application online and finish at the branch.
What are the loan rates?
Vehicle loan from 16% (USD) / 18% (DOP); mortgage from 17% (USD) / 19% (DOP); secured from 16%. The unsecured loan (microcredit up to ~RD$20,000) has a 42% rate and helps build credit history.
How much do financial certificates yield?
Between 6% and 10% per year depending on the term (30, 60, 90, 180 or 360 days), with protected capital and predictable returns.
Is COOPACSOL regulated?
Yes. We operate under the regulation and supervision of IDECOOP (Institute for Cooperative Development and Credit) and are formally registered as a cooperative with the Dominican State. Founded on February 1, 2019.
